Robert "Bob" Charles Porter

Robert “Bob” Charles Porter, 75 of Salem, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at Hospice House in Poland.  Robert was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 16, 1940 the son of the late Charles & Evelyn (Biery) Porter. He was a graduate of Columbiana High School and was a US Army veteran.  He retired from Rent-Way and worked at Napa.  Bob attended Grace Chapel, Columbiana and was a lifetime member of the Salem AmVets.  He loved to travel and spend time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marcie L. (Miller) of Salem whom he married on May 25, 1974; two grandchildren, Crystal Senior, Samantha Gregory; three great grandchildren, Alexis, Madison and Daniel Gregory.  He is also survived by two sisters, Faye (Richard) Detwiler of Charlotte, North Carolina and Beverly Price of Columbiana.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Evans in 2006 and a brother Ronald.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Rob Joy officiating.  Friends may call the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s honor to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
