Carl E. Bartels

Carl E. Bartels, 81 of Sebring, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Alliance Community Hospital after a sudden illness.  Carl was born in Richmond, Ohio on August 24, 1935, the son of the late George C. and Blanche (Taggart) Bartels. Carl was a graduate of Salem High School, a US Navy veteran and worked for Reliance Electric in their sales and troubleshooting department. Most recently he worked for Akron Controller and Motor in sales.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors especially golf, camping and fishing.  He was a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan and supported Mount Union and Ohio State.  However most important to Carl was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Caroll (Dixon) Bartels, whom he married on November 28, 1959, a son Steven Bartels of Sebring, and a daughter Pamela (Pat) Murray of Salem; 2 grandchildren Abigail (Zack) MayRobb, John Isaac Murray and a great grandson Jerick MayRobb and a brother Dean Bartels of Ormond Beach, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Harry Bartels, Wayne Bartels and Wilma Brandt.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
