Alliance

William Glenn Sloat Jr., affectionately known as Billy, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, at the age of 48, in his hometown of Alliance, Ohio. Born on February 22, 1975, in the same warm community, Billy's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and generosity that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Billy is survived by a loving family that includes his mother, Helen Sloat and his stepfather Danny Sayers; stepdaughter, Tiffany Jancel and her husband Timothy; sister Amy Sloat; stepbrother, Aaron Sayer; stepsister, Robin Myers; and his cherished grandchildren, Jimothy, Jayden, Jordan, and Alexanderia Jancel, and Damon Martin. Also to cherish Billy's memory is a nephew, two nieces, two great nephews, one great niece, a special cousin Kim Sloat and many other cousins. Billy will also be remembered by his favorite aunt Norma Hickman and the memories of them sitting on the porch laughing and just enjoying each others company. His devoted cat companion, Mrs. Sloat, also remains to cherish his memory. Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Sloat; brother, Allen Sloat; and grandparents, Archie and Geraldine Hickman and Charles and Ruth Sloat.

Billy's professional life was marked by his dedicated service at Marlboro Manufacturing and his time spent driving for the Amish community. His work not only showcased his strong work ethic but also his desire to serve and connect with others.

An individual of many passions, Billy's zest for life was evident in his varied interests. He was an avid card player, a joyful presence at the bingo halls, and a frequent visitor to casinos, where his infectious laughter could light up any room. Billy's love for riding motorcycles embodied his sense of freedom and adventure. He often spoke fondly of his vacations, a time when he could relax and create lasting memories with friends and family.

Billy's entrepreneurial spirit shone through in his knack for buying and reselling cars. He found joy in the art of the deal and the opportunity to meet new people through his transactions. Above all, Billy's desire to help others was a golden thread woven through the fabric of his life. His friends and family knew they could count on him for support, a listening ear, or a helping hand whenever needed.

To know Billy was to know a man who was loving, funny, and friendly. His heart was as open as his door, and many can attest to the warmth and kindness that he extended to everyone he met. Billy's sense of humor was a gift that he generously shared, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him, even in the most ordinary moments.

The legacy Billy leaves behind is one of love and joy. He taught us to cherish the simple pleasures in life, to always lend a helping hand, and to treasure the company of good friends and family. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
