Terri Denton Obituary

Terri Lynn (Domencetti) Denton, 62, of Salem, Ohio died of cancer at Aultman Hospital, September 15, 2020. She was born on April 14, 1958 in Salem, the daughter of the late Vincent and Pauline (Nutial) Domencetti.

Terri graduated from Salem High School in 1976, where she reigned as homecoming queen in 1975. After high school, she spent 34 years at Freshmark (formerly Carriage Hill Foods) and married Fred Denton in 2002. Terri was lovingly known as “Aunt Terri” by her many nieces and nephews who cherished decades of countless memories, endless talks, and walks out to the pond. She was the aunt that selflessly welcomed extended family to her home year-after-year for holidays, turning traditional events into permanent family fixtures. Nieces, nephews, and cousins came to Terri’s to become lifelong friends. She was the aunt that showed up for sports games, dance recitals, community theater, band shows and prom parades that eventually turned into weddings, baby showers, and new generations of nieces and nephews.

Terri was also a great animal lover—often known for taking in abused animals and giving them a permanent home with incredible love and care. She joins a few of her beloved “children” in heaven, such as Rufus and Penny—to name a few—and is survived by Colby and Betsy. Terri’s passion for helping to ensure a better life for animals and senior citizens was unmatched. In addition to spending her life caring for her father, she also adopted many other seniors into her family.

She is survived by spouse, Fred Denton, her best friend and forever soulmate. Terri was loved and will be deeply missed by Fred and the entire Denton and Domencetti family.

She is also survived by three sisters, Joan Utt of Lisbon, Ohio, Lois (Dick) Dorazio of Warren, Ohio, and Debra Domencetti of Indianapolis, IN. Brother, Robert “Bob” (Becky) Domencetti preceded her in death.

Arrangements are being handled by Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Salem. A Memorial Service for Terri will take place at a future announced date sometime in the spring.
