Mary Geist Obituary
Mary E. (Carlisle) Geist, 92, of Salem, passed away on December 22, 2021 at Salem Regional Medical Center. Mary was born November 20, 1929 in Lisbon, Ohio to the late James and Mildred (Dotson) Carlisle. Mary attended Calvary Baptist Church; member of the Salem Amvets and the Salem Slovack Club. In her free time Mary enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her children Ron (Connie) Geist of Salem, Holly (Ed) Evans of Salem, Lynn (David) Nihart of Salem; a brother Leeland Carlisle; nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Geist; a son Richard Geist; daughter Diane Brown; granddaughter Jamie Evans and several brothers and sisters.
A private family service was held and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Mary's honor to the Salem Amvets.
