Lawrence Sweely Obituary

Lawrence E. Sweely, 74, of Sebring passed away on July 24, 2021 at his home. Lawrence was born on October 16, 1946 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Charles and Lillian (Mills) Sweely. Graduated from Sebring McKinley High School and drafted in 1966 in the US Army, for the war in Vietnam; after his service time he became a member of The National Guard Unit based in Alliance the 107th Howitzer Battery. He retired from the Guard as an E7 (Sgt 1st Class) all while working at United Die for over 50 years. He enjoyed taking vacation with his family and anything that involved the outdoors. In his "Golden Years" he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Lawrence is survived by his children Tammy Sweely and Michael (Valerie) Sweely; three grandchildren Zachary (Sarah) Leasure, Jacob (Ashley) Leasure and Bryce Sweely; five great-grandchildren Holden, Deagan, Ryot, Revel and Archer Leasure. Lawrence is also survived by his brother and sister in laws as well as a large Sweely family. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife Brenda Sweely who passed away on May 16, 202 and his parents Charles and Lillian Sweely.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the chapel of Highland Memorial Park in Beloit at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to to your local veteran's association.
