Laura (Melzer) Hamby

Laura (Melzer) Hamby, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, in Sebring, Ohio, at the age of 54. Born on September 18, 1969, in Alliance, Ohio. After graduating from Sebring McKinley High School in 1987, Laura dedicated herself to a career of service, working as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). Her natural inclination to help those in need not only guided her career path but also shone through in every aspect of her life.

She is survived by her devoted parents, William and Linda (Rice) Melzer; her cherished sons, Seth (Kaylee) Hamby and Tyler Hamby; her loving sister, Joanna (Jason) Erb; her adored nieces, Morgan Ross, Mackenzie Zets, Marissa Erb and her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Laura found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had an affinity for the calming waves and the serenity of the beach, a place where she felt at peace and rejuvenated. Her loyal dog, Zoie, was a constant companion, and the time spent with her furry friend brought Laura immense joy and comfort.

In the quiet moments when we find ourselves at the beach, listening to the waves, or in the company of a beloved pet, we will think of Laura and smile, knowing that her essence is with us, encouraging us to live with the same generosity and warmth that she embodied every day.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
