Kenneth Akers Obituary

Kenneth E. Akers 76, of Beloit passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Kenny was born in Alliance on August 20, 1944 the son of the late Harold and Louise (Collins) Akers. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from GM Lordstown. Kenny enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time outdoors especially working on his yard and the landscaping. He was a member of the Alliance Balsa Bees where he enjoyed flying model planes and also a member of the Alliance American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary (Nezbeth) Akers whom he married on April 22, 1967, two children; Michele (James) Hill, Angela (Kevin Kisik) Akers. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Dustin Akers, Katelyn Hill, James Jr. and Richard Hill. 8 siblings; Donald, Roger, Harold Jr. Debra, Annette, Shelle, Theresa, and Brenda.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home the hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. The family would like to encourage proper social social distancing and wearing of masks at all times while indoors.
