Karl H Wendland

Karl H. Wendland, age 78 of Beloit Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Karl was man of integrity and of humble stature. He was always eager to learn and a quick study. Karl's wealth of knowledge was sought after as friends, neighbors and family asked his advice on projects. He always enjoyed working with his hands and engaging in various projects. Through his passion of working with wood, Karl became a craftsman of all trades. He was known to make "awesome" sauce as he canned the tomato harvest from the years garden. A few of his
favorite sayings were "you can't see it from my house" and "they print more money everyday."

Karl graduated from the first graduating class of West Branch High School in 1961. Karl loved sharing stories to a captive audience. He spoke of selecting the colors for the newly formed school district. His children and a grandchild later graduated from West Branch dawning the same colors he chose years prior. Karl was in the Reserves prior to becoming a Dairy Farmer. Over the 28 years, he developed and strengthened his skills to be known as the maker, fixer and creator. Karl made the decision to leave farming for a welding position at Mac Trailer. He enjoyed having set hours in the work day and creating individual pieces for the trucks. After 13 years, Karl retired. He was proud of his
work and laughed when three people were hired to replace the work he found easy. Karl was described as kind, loving, and a friend to all. He was most happy when the house was filled with the busyness of family. He was always asking when the next visit would be. Family was everything to Karl. His legacy of love and kindness lives on through us all.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virgina Wendland, and sister, Sandy Parker. Karl is survived by his wife, Donna Wendland, children Stacy (Ryan) Orbaker, Steven (Michelle) Wendland, Michael (Sabrina) Wendland, Grandchildren Peyton Hinerman, Kaleb and Kaitlyn Wendland. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Robert Parker and two nephews Mark and Wayne.
