John Thomas Obituary

John R. Thomas, 77 of Damascus, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center. John was born in Alliance on July 29, 1943 the son of the late Robert J. and Helen L. (Barnes) Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School and a US Army veteran. He worked for 35 years as a Metal Finisher for General Motors. He was an active member of East Goshen Friends Church. John enjoyed Cars, Photography, Traveling, Car shows and Car Racing, John loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Nancy Thomas whom he married at East Goshen on October 8, 1977. two daughters; Christina M. Revmatas of Beloit, Ohio and Lynette L. Thomas of Jacksonville, North Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Zackery Lough, Jeremy Thomas and Emily Thomas. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Dale E. Thomas.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at East Goshen Friends Church at 12:00 PM with Pastor Stan Mink and Pastor Josh White officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church the hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at East Goshen Cemetery.
