James Weizenecker Obituary

James Owen Weizenecker, 90, of Beloit, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 29, 1931 in Beloit, Ohio to Fred and Lucy Weizenecker.

He graduated from Beloit high school and attended Cleveland Bible College and Malone college. Jim had a great love for sports and was very talented in any sport he played. He was a member of Malone's first basketball team. He especially loved baseball and was a member of many state championship teams. He had a tremendous love of the game and sports were always a favorite past time of his. He also attended spring training with the Boston Red Sox, but was released because of his diabetes.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and pastor. His life was a light that shone bright for Jesus. Anyone who spent time with him could see his extra ordinary love he had for his Savior. He was full of life, laughter and most importantly-love. The love he had for his family was incredible and deep. He led his family with grace, wisdom and compassion. He was someone you could always count on and was a listening ear to anyone who needed it. He had a career as a meat cutter and after retirement became a pastor in Kermit, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lucy (Owen) Weizenecker , his wife Ruby M. Weizenecker, one brother Jerry Weizenecker, one sister Carol Weizenecker, one daughter Rufena Galloway and one granddaughter Ruby Theresa Burris.
He was married to Ruby (Moulin) Weizenecker, the love of his life for 58 years. They shared 4 daughters, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. They shared many blessings and happiness through the years, some call it chaos - they called it family. Ruby went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2011.

Later Jim was blessed to fall in love again. He married Dorothy (Dottie) Murphy on October 6, 2012, and she became a very loved member of his family. He became a stepfather to 4 more children, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. They enjoyed 10 wonderful years together in North Carolina.

He is survived by his loving wife Dottie, 3 daughters and their spouses-Rene' & Rod Hanni of Beloit, Rhonda & Jim Zinn of N. Benton, Roene & Robert Burris of N. Homeworth, 3 sisters- Delora Anthony of Beloit, Connie Willhite of Florida, Sally Barnes of Beloit.

A celebration of his full and amazing life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Beloit Friends Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beloit Friends Church Building Fund.
