George Schubert, 87, of Alliance passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Community Care Center surrounded by his loving family. George was born on September 5, 1934 in Sebring, Ohio to the late Sebastian and Ester (Skelding) Schubert. George was a United States Navy Veteran and following his service he worked for B&W as a Crane Operator until his retirement. George enjoyed being outdoors tending to his yard or cutting wood; working on cars and taking his wife out to eat almost every day.
George is survived by his wife of over 60 years Shirley (Kocher) Schubert; children Todd Schubert, Scott (Alan McIntyre) Schubert; Sue (Steve) Neiswonger; grandchildren Melissa (Joshua McKenzie) Thompson, Jared (Tammi) Gammon; Stacey (Joe) Leary; great-grandchildren Dakota Thompson, Garrett Thompson, Austin Leary, Morgan Leary, Ashlee Leary, Miley Leary, Brianna Keim, Ellie Gammon and Maxwell Gammon; and two sisters Elizabeth Peloso and Patricia Aberegg. Besides his parents George was preceded in death by two brothers Elmer Schubert and Richard Schubert and two sisters Esther Mae Dowd and Maryann Lemasters.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, 126 W. Vermont Ave. Sebring, Ohio with Pastor Quint Bryan officiating. Friends and family will be received the hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Alliance City Cemetery.
