Geoffrey Lee Flickinger

July 18, 1955 — February 24, 2024

Geoffrey Lee Flickinger, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, was called to Heaven on February 24, 2024, in Alliance, Ohio, at the age of 68. He entered this world on July 18, 1955, Geoffrey's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and passion.

Geoffrey is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Flickinger, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. His legacy continues through his son, Jason Flickinger, and daughter, Tina Thorley, as well as his five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Tilly Headley, who was a source of immense joy and laughter in his final year. Geoffrey's sisters, Gayle Steele and Gloria Stewart, along with several nieces and nephews will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ethel Flickinger, and his brother, Gerald Flickinger. Geoffrey's buddy and dog companion Bruno faithfully journeyed with him to eternity.

Geoffrey's life was marked by his passion for the outdoors. His later years were filled with memorable travels to Hilton Head, where he had the pleasure of fishing with Fuzzy Davis. It was there that he caught two remarkable trout, a story that he loved to recount, with each telling growing grander and more animated. An avid fisherman, Geoffrey enjoyed casting lines with his nephews, son, and friends, sharing in the serenity and thrill of the catch. Deer hunting was another pursuit that Geoffrey held dear.

A man with a green thumb, Geoffrey planted a garden every year, nurturing it with the same love and attention he gave to his family. He was always on the hunt for "mmm mmm good" food recipes, delighting in the creation and sharing of delicious meals. His presence at family gatherings was marked by warmth, laughter, and an abundance of lovingly prepared food.

Throughout his life, he shared his unwavering faith and encouraged those around him to love unconditionally and embrace Christ as their savior. Near the end of his life, he spoke of the great table being prepared for him in heaven, where he would feast with the Lord. His message to loved ones was one of preparedness and acceptance, assuring them that when their time came, it was simply part of life's journey.

Geoffrey's impact on the world was profound, not through grand gestures, but through the everyday expressions of his faith and love. He was a storyteller at heart, with tales that captured the imagination and drew listeners into his richly lived life.

As we bid farewell to Geoffrey, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with him. His parting words, "When it is your time, you can't help it-you just have to be prepared and that's okay," remind us to live life with grace and to cherish each moment.
