Gary Adrian King

Gary A. King, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, at the age of 80, in Alliance, Ohio. Born on July 30, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, to Forrest and Gladys (Lowrey) King, Gary's life was one marked by dedication, love, and an admirable work ethic.

After graduating from South East High School in 1961, Gary honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps, instilling in him a sense of discipline and pride that he carried throughout his life. His post-military career led him to Goodyear, where he worked diligently before retiring from the Portage County Engineer's Office. His colleagues will remember him as a reliable and committed worker, who brought both skill and good humor to the workplace.

Gary's is survived his wife, Karen King, his children, Lori Martin, Gary "Boomer" King, Becky (John) Fano, Shelia (Paul) Mobley, and George (Jen) Hill. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. Gary was predeceased by his grandson Dustin Martin, his brother Fred King, and his first wife Donna King.

A man of the earth, Gary found solace and pleasure in working with the land. He was known to many as a jack of all trades, a testament to his ability to turn his hand to any task with skill and enthusiasm. His farm was not just a piece of land, but a canvas where he painted the story of his life, one season at a time.

Gary's absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance that will continue to inspire his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. As the sun sets on his final chapter, we remember Gary A. King not for the years in his life, but for the life in his years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring, Ohio at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Palmyra Cemetery.
