Donald Russell

April 20, 1928 — July 1, 2017

Donald “Pap” Russell 89, of Beloit passed away at Canterbury Villa on July 1, 2017. Donald was born in McDonald, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1928 the son of the late James Y. & Mildred (Henry) Russell. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked as a core maker for American Steel Foundries in Alliance.  Donald was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sebring and a life member of the VFW Lodge 6730. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years Lois (Mauck) Russell, three step sons Jerry (Amy) Mauck of Alliance, Jeffrey (Carina) Mauck of Cleveland, Roger (Lisa) Huntington of Georgia, step grandson, George M. Hill Jr., one step great granddaughter and four step great grandsons. He is also survived a brother William (Dorothy) Russell of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Russell, three sisters Bertha Abbott, Agnes Felton, Jessie Wallo and two brothers Robert & James Russell, and a step son George M. Hill Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring with Pastor Mike Kimball officiating and military  honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard. Friends may call on Friday July 7, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
