Dan Blythe Obituary

Dan G. Blythe, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, at the age of 76 in Youngstown, Ohio. Born on September 2, 1947, in Ravenna, Ohio, Dan's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the simple joys of life.

Dan's journey began as the beloved son of the late Daniel and Wilma (Owen) Stoffer Blythe. He grew up surrounded by his siblings, Barb Mordew, Beverly (Norm) Price, and the late Sandy, Dean, Dale, and Duane. In the warmth of a large family, he learned the values of camaraderie and support-traits that would define him throughout his life.

Dan's heart found its match in his loving wife, Linda (Pegg) Blythe. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and treasured moments. The family grew with theblending of their children, Sean (Gina), Kim (Dave), and Eric (Autumn), and stepchildren Jeff (Laura), Joe (Tess), and Rob (Stephanie). Dan's legacy continued to flourish with the joy of his 15 grandchildren, each of whom brought a unique light to his eyes.

A dedicated professional, Dan devoted 33 years to Salem Blanking, where his hard work and commitment were evident. He also lent his talents to Quaker Manufacturing and TruCut, leaving a lasting impact through his diligent work ethic and friendly demeanor.

Outside of work, Dan pursued his passions with the same fervor that he approached all aspects of his life. An avid fisherman, he often could be found with a rod in hand, alongside his lifelong friend and fishing buddy, Gary Delp. Dan's love for the outdoors extended to his garden, where he cultivated not just plants but also the bonds with family and friends who gathered around him.

Dan's passion was palpable, and his friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community. He approached life with a loving heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. Those who knew him best would describe him as passionate, friendly, and loving-a man who truly lived his values every day.

Dan's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his devoted wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, sisters, and countless friends. As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, the echoes of Dan's laughter, the warmth of his hugs, and the wisdom of his words will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we say goodbye to Dan G. Blythe, we celebrate a life that was full to the brim with love, friendship, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living. He has now joined his parents, siblings, grandson Jack, and brother-in-law George Mordew in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love and a family that will forever honor his memory.
