Burl Carpenter

Burl Carpenter, 81, of Beloit passed away at St. Elizabeth Health Center on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Burl was born on August 19, 1940 in Gassaway, WV. to the late Floyd and Sharlet (Stout) Carpenter. Burl worked as a truck driver for many years and retired from Mac Trailer in Alliance. He worked as a projector operator for College Plaza Cinema, Midwest Drive In and Park Auto Theater. He was an avid Ohio Lottery Scratch Off player and enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and he enjoyed his friends and family but especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burl is survived by his daughters Vicki Bailey (Clifford Scott) and Leigh (Kevin) Hurford; siblings Betty Marks, Marvin (Beverly) Carpenter, Rowena Ludu, Rosie Best, Susan (Ronald) Emplit, Donald Carpenter and Thomas Carpenter; grandchildren Heather (Chad) Johnson, Amy (Troy) Adams, Jerrid (Melinda) Bailey, Kimberly Parker, Kayla (Nate) Hall and Joshua (Olivia Cross) Hurford; great grandchildren Luke and Lilly Johnson, Trent, Austin, and Aubree Adams, Maddie, Allie and Jake Bailey, Blake, Bailey, Bryce, Myles and Maizy Parker, and Jourdyn Hall. Besides his parents Burl was preceded in death by his wife Carol (Yarian) Carpenter who passed away on May 14, 2020; siblings Nelli Carol Eberling, Paul Carpenter, Diana Rose and Audrey Graham; a son in law Jerry Bailey; two nieces Sara Kelly and Carolyn Unkefer and a nephew John Eberling II.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate the memory of Burl Carpenter on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM with Derrick Bailey officiating at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received two hours prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
