Barbara Ebben Obituary

Barbara Kay Ebben, a beacon of kindness and artistic talent, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Salem, Ohio. Born on January 1, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, Barbara's gentle spirit and creative soul touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a loving mother, cherished sister, adored grandmother, and a friend to many.

Barbara grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Lincoln High School in Canton, Ohio, in 1965. Her passion for the arts was evident early on, and she channeled this love into a fulfilling career as a painter at EP China. Her work was not only a profession but a canvas where she expressed her creativity and meticulous attention to detail.

Barbara's hands were rarely still, as she was always immersed in painting, crafting, and sharing her artistic gifts with those around her. A devout and religious individual, Barbara found strength and solace in her faith, which she reflected in her everyday actions and the beauty of her craft.

Barbara's love for cooking and baking was renowned, and her kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends gathered to enjoy her delicious creations. She had a special affinity for angels, collecting them in all forms, which surrounded her with a sense of peace and joy.

Above all, Barbara's grandchildren, Bryce and Max Ebben, were the light of her life. She poured her love into every moment spent with them, leaving a legacy of cherished memories and life lessons. Her love for her family was boundless, including her two sons, Henry (Michelle Steffey) Ebben of Warren, Ohio and Shawn Ebben of Vaughn Washington and she also leaves behind Kristi Ebben of Columbiana. Barbara's sister, Anna Boardley, held a special place in her heart, and their bond was one of deep affection and mutual admiration.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Ebben, who passed away on April 28, 2016. Her guiding presence will also be missed by her brother John Donaldson and her parents, Ernest and Elvira (Carrick) Donaldson, who predeceased her.

Those who knew Barbara will remember her as a loving and kind soul, a gentle presence who brought warmth and light into the lives of others. Her love and kindness were the threads that wove her family together, and her gentle spirit will remain a guiding force for all who were blessed to know her.
