Yvonne Edna Gwendolyn Leask passed on May 3, 2019, at her home in North Benton, Ohio, at the age of 92.
Yvonne was born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, on November 16, 1926 to Fred and Sarah (Welsby) Leask. Two years later, Yvonne traveled with her family, brother Jack (deceased), and Maurice (of Deerfield) to Akron where she eventually attended Garfield Schools and Deerfield High School.
With the coming of World War II, she attended Riveting Class at Firestone Aircraft and riveted Cā46 transport wings.
She later was employed as a cashier for Persky's of Alliance. Following her retirement, she then managed her own dairy operation in North Benton for 14 years.
Her husband, Robert Manypenny, farmed the family homestead on Johnson Road with his father and brothers, Francis and Glenn. The Manypenny Dairy was in operation more than 50 years.
Robert and Yvonne's family consists of eight children. In descending order, they include: Sally Sampson of Deerfield; Sandra Stout of Alliance; Arlene Picciano of Canton; Dan Langties (Lilia) of Salem; Norman Langties of Santa Ana, California and George (Jane) Langties of Salem. Other family members include: Sue Langties, daughter-in-law; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Robert Manypenny on March 14, 2019, two sons: Jack and Travis Langties; three sons-in-law, Don Sampson, Jr., Milbur Stout and Joe Picciano.
Yvonne's many talents and hobbies included knitting, embroidery, painting, puzzles, crochet, and playing the organ. She was devoted to her dog, Stella, and her two cats, Crooked Ear and Snowy.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home at Sebring, Ohio, with Pastor Jody Hill officiating. Friends will be received the hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, in Beloit, on Thursday, 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Yvonne's honor to Aultman Alliance Community Hospice, 2461 West State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
