Sherwood Mitman, affectionately known as "Woody," was born on March 8, 1943, in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Austintown, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of fond memories and a profound impact on the lives of those who knew him. Woody was celebrated for his multifaceted skills, famously characterized as a "Jack of All Trades." Throughout his life, he found joy not only in sharing time with his beloved family but also in his passion for buying and selling nearly anything that caught his eye. This unique interest brought him fulfillment and connected him with many people from diverse walks of life. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Mitman, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Woody is also remembered by his sister, Catherine Akins, and his brother, David Mitman. His circle of loved ones extends further to include his longtime companion, Susan Postiy,and her children, Brenda (Gus) Postiy-Varela, Eva Yoho, and Dennis (Annette) Postiy. He now joins his late parents, Vernon and Alverta Mitman, and is preceded in death by his three daughters: Brenda Mitman, Diane Myers, and Connie Onjack. He is also reunited with his brother, Larry Mitman, and John Yoho. A visitation for Woody will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring, Ohio, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
