Theodore (Ted) Peter Martin

Theodore "Ted" Peter Martin, 88, passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2025. He was born on June 29, 1937, in Maui, Hawaii. Ted spent his early childhood in Pu'unene, Maui until moving to O'ahu where he made his longtime home. In 1988 he moved from Hawai'i and made his way to Jacksonville, Florida where he lived till 2011 when he moved to Lisbon, Ohio.

In February 2011, Ted married Louise "Rusty" Dickens, beginning a beautiful chapter in his life. Rusty brought companionship and so much joy and love into his life in these last 14 years together.

Ted proudly served in the United States Army, spending his service time in Korea. Ted found joy in the simple pleasures. He loved Sunday drives and exploring new areas, spending time in his yard "putzing around", watching classic western movies, and listening to old country music. He was also a devoted Notre Dame football fan. Spending time with Rusty, his family and his furry friends would bring him joy, comfort and happiness.

Ted is survived by his five children: Scott Martin, Shane Martin (Lina), Susan Ham (Greg), Shawn Martin, and Stacy Martin (Jody). He is also survived by Rusty's three sons: David Dickens (Lori), Dan Dickens (Jaris) and Richard Dickens (Janice). Ted leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren, along with 3 great grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren with 3 more great grandchildren expected in early 2026. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Arbuckle, Julie Camara, and Carol Wong all from Honolulu, Hawai'i.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Ludvina Martin and his sister Lorraine Meeks. Though we will miss him deeply, we rejoice knowing he is now at peace and living in glory. Reunited with his loved ones that have gone before him. He is now in his eternal home.
