Shirley Petti

Shirley Petti, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 96 in Salem, Ohio. Born on December 10, 1929, in Hillsdale, Ohio, Shirley was the daughter of Merle and Isabel (Marvin) Grace.

Shirley was known for her warm spirit and deep devotion to her family, which remained her proudest accomplishment throughout her life. Shirley enjoyed various hobbies, including bowling and engaging in word searches, which were among her favorite pastimes. 

She is survived by her three daughters: Charlene Hunchuk, Darlene Smith, and Beverly Davis. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, Eric (Chelsea) Davis, Jeff Davis, Josh (Kacie) Davis, Amanda (Landon) Heath, Brittany (Steve) Marshall, Brant (Jani) Newton, Laura (Tim) Harrington, Tiffany Petti, and Ryan Petti, along with eleven great-grandchildren: Tyler, McKenzie, Amiah, Khole, Golden, Olivia, Sophia, Nash, Graham, Sutton, and Elle. She was a beloved sister to Gloriann (John) Martieck and sister-in-law to Jeanie Grace. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dominic Petti, her son William Smith, her son, Keith Petti; her brother Fred Grace, brother Marvin Grace; her sisters Alice Barick, and Beverly Grace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 22, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home, located at 510 Jennings Avenue, Salem, Ohio at 4:00 PM. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held two hours prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
