After an inspirational battle with cancer, Shawn has come to peace and been called home. Shawn fought his battle with a positive attitude. He was very open to discuss his disease and encourage others to be proactive in getting screened.

Shawn was born October 2,1977 to his wonderful parents Mike and Bertie Pinkerton and grew up in Sebring, Ohio. Shawn is survived by his wife of 22 years Michelle Pinkerton, the pride of his life, his son, Zackary Pinkerton, Mother Bertie Pinkerton, Sister Shelley Pinkerton, mother in-law Cathy Collins, Father in-law Dale (Kathryn) Fausnight, Aunt Trudy(Jim)Goldsteien, Cousin Melissa Moose, Brother and Sister in-laws Bob and Crystal Mellon, Cory and Kelsey Fausnight and Nicholas and Melissa Fachs along with several nieces, nephews, aunt's, cousins and his absolute favorite uncle Russ(Lisa) Burrier. He was blessed in his life with his nephew and niece Caden Mellon and Issabella
Mellon. He will miss his dog Ash. He was proceeded in death by his father Mike Pinkerton, grandparents Oliver and Marie Pinkerton, grandparents Russ and Lois Burrier and uncle Gary Burrier.

Shawn was blessed to be surrounded by a strong group of friends that quickly became family. Those are his brothers Dion Vickers, Aaron Coleman, Ray Poorbaugh, Jason Starcher and Gary Martin. He also gained some very special nieces and nephews Justin Vickers, Rachel Vickers, Brennen Vickers, Lindsey Vickers, Carson Vickers and Delaney Vickers.

A 1996 graduate of Sering McKinley High School, Shawn would go on to attend classes at Mount Union College and Stark State College around his full-time hours at Mobile Consultants, Inc. It was at Mobile Consultants that Shawn was introduce and instantly fell in love with Michellle. After a 2 year courtship the couple engaged on April 1, 2000 and married on October 20, 2001. The couple would welcome their son Zackary September 2006 and it was at that time Shawn realized his life had been complete with the beginning of their beautiful family.

Shawn continued to work with FirstMerit Bank after a buyout of Mobile Consultants. He spent 18 years working for FirstMerit Bank before taking a role with Key Bank in 2016 where he continued to work. Shawn did it the hard way working his way from entry level into management position. He was passionate about his job and enjoyed all of his co-workers along the way.

Shawn grew to have a passion for drag racing. He loved the travels, the tracks and those he grew close to over the years of racing. When Zackary started to show interest in sports, Shawn enjoyed the opportunity to coach his son and watch him grow in his abilities. There was nothing more that Shawn loved then watching Zack on the baseball field and basketball court. He was very proud of the work ethic that Zackary developed. Shawn was also very proud of the other young men that he coached and enjoyed watching them all grow into fine young men.

A funeral service celebrating Shawn's life will be held on on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Moore officiating. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and the hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Sebring. In lieu of flowers, Shawn ask that donations be made to the Alliance Hot Stove Baseball organization or West Branch Athletics Department.
