Roy Allen McBride, 85 of Beloit went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 following an accident at his home, doing what he loved to do. He was born to Lewis and Lillie (Reed) McBride on April 16, 1933 in a log cabin in Carroll County, Ohio. Roy was one of 14 children. He worked as an independent truck driver for J. Miller and worked for Yellow Freight. He loved spending time with his family, and spent a lot of time helping his community and neighbors. He will be remembered by many for repairing tractors and spending time camping.
Survivors include his wife Martha Elizabeth (Sanor) McBride whom he married on February 4, 1955, his sons Leslie, Gary and Martin of Beloit; daughters Karen (Daniel) Hawk of East Rochester, Brenda (Allen) Mast of Beverly Hills, FL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his sisters Marylou, Shirley, Betty and Martha, and brothers Bob, Frank, Jim, Bill and Richard McBride. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy, Ruthann, Ada and Ida.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Mike Kimball officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and the hour before the service on Tuesday. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Roy's honor to the Beloit Fire Department. Friends and family may send condolences and sign the guest book online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
