Robert J. Rouse Jr.

Robert J. Rouse Jr., of Sebring, passed away on June 17, 2026, at Aultman/Alliance Hospital. Born on May 26, 1944, in Alliance, Robert's life was marked by steadfast commitment to his family, career, and community.

A proud alumnus of Sebring McKinley High School's class of 1962, Robert answered the call to serve his country shortly thereafter. He served as an electrician in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1965, demonstrating the same reliability and skill that would define his professional and personal endeavors for the rest of his life.

Following his honorable military service, Robert embarked on a career that both honored his family heritage and highlighted his entrepreneurial spirit. He began working alongside his father at Rouse Electric, eventually taking over as the owner and continuing the family legacy with integrity and dedication. Alongside this, he also co-founded Sebring Trophy and Award, eventually becoming the sole owner and ran it for several decades before retiring. His role as a businessman was complemented by his active participation in local government and community service, most notably becoming the youngest member elected to the Sebring Council at that time.

Robert's commitment to community extended beyond his professional life. He was a volunteer fireman in Sebring, a member of the Sebring Masonic Lodge and Tadmor Shrine, and held memberships in the now-former Sebring VFW and the Sebring American Legion.

To those who knew him, Robert was a gifted storyteller, often sharing tales that captivated and entertained. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies-hunting and fishing-activities he pursued with great enthusiasm. He especially enjoyed the annual fishing trip to Michigan City, alongside his best friend Tom Stryffeler.

Family was central to Robert's life. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, supporting his four grandchildren in all their endeavors with unwavering encouragement and affection. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sharon, daughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Kinsley, and grandchildren Cole Kinsley and Kara (Dan) Fanelly; his son, Rob Rouse, along with grandsons Rob Rouse Jr. and Carson Rouse; as well as his sister, Linda (Russell) Aston, and brother Kim Rouse. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Martha (Lalu) Rouse Sr.
