Rebecca Lynn Wilson, community servant and beloved family member, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at her home in North Benton, Ohio. Born on January 11, 1955, in Salem, Ohio, Rebecca's life was marked by generosity, compassion, and an unwavering love for those around her.
Rebecca was a lifelong resident of Ohio and a proud alumna of West Branch High School. Throughout her youth, she distinguished herself both academically and in extracurricular activities. She was honored as Mahoning County Dairy Princess and was a participant in Buckeye Girls State. Her dedication to excellence earned her membership in the National Honor Society and recognition on the Annual Staff. She enthusiastically contributed to her school's music programs as a member of the Concert Choir and Concert Band, and performed with the Deerfield Chorus. Notably, Rebecca sang in the patriotic production "I Love America" on three occasions and lent her voice as a wedding singer, showcasing her musical talents and love for performance. During her senior year, she received the distinguished Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award, exemplifying her multifaceted skills and ambitions.
Rebecca's professional career spanned an impressive 47 years at the Aultman Alliance Community Hospital. Her commitment and dedication were acknowledged through multiple awards, reflecting her excellence and leadership within the healthcare community. She also served as the Alliance Community Hospital Red Cross Representative, embodying her compassionate spirit and commitment to service.
Known for her generous and caring nature, Rebecca had many interests; reading, cooking, baking, music, lover of dogs especially "dachshund" and spending cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Sylvia Hammond; her husband, Earl "Dutch" Wilson; and her son, Jon (Jordan) Wilson. She took pride in her role as grandmother to three grandsons, Jarrett, Jonah, and Jett, who brought great joy into her life. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Colleen) Hammond, her niece Christina Hammond, and great niece Ariana Hammond. Her father, John Hammond, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the North Benton Presbyterian Church or West Branch High School Music Department.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at North Benton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Herb Goetz Officiating at 6:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
