Ralph David Pitzer II

April 1, 1942 — May 15, 2026

Born January 4, 1942, Ralph David Pitzer II passed away on May 15, 2026 at Copeland Oaks Memory Unit.

He was born in Youngtown, Ohio and spent his youth in Boardman, Ohio, graduating from Boardman High School in 1960. Ralph then attended Bluffton College, majoring in Business Administration, graduating in 1964. It was at Bluffton College where he met and married his best love, Sally Pitzer.

Ralph was a man of God, dedicated family man, loyal friend, and beloved Baba to his grandchildren.

His professional career reflected his exceptional ability and dedication in the automotive and engine sales industries. He started his sales career in Fremont, Ohio, at a car dealership, quickly moving to the engine manufacturing sector. He continually expanded his influence working in various local, regional and national management sales roles in Ohio, Michigan, and Florida.

Ralph's commitments extended well beyond his professional life into his spiritual and community endeavors. He was an active member of multiple churches throughout his life, including the Church of the Savior in Canton, Saline United Methodist Church in Saline, Michigan, and Geneva Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine, Florida. His faith inspired him to teach Sunday school and lead youth groups along with assisting in vacation Bible schools. He also served as an Elder, led finance committees and regularly participated in Church outreach projects. These activities underscored Ralph's deep commitment to nurturing his faith and serving others generously.

Personal interests included being an accomplished water skier, competitive racquetball player, golfer (with an impressive five career hole-in-ones), and a lifelong passion for cars, especially Corvettes. He was a loyal University of Michigan football fan.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sally Pitzer, sister, Nancy Ann (Al) Burns, and his children Stephanie (Scott) Carmack, David (Ashleigh) Pitzer, and Matthew (Sara) Pitzer. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alyssa and Josh Carmack, Christopher Pitzer, Addison, Colin, Julian and Miguel Pitzer, Claire Carpenter and preceded in death by Will Carpenter. His (2) great-grandchildren are Ryann Heilman and Jonah Carmack.

A memorial service to celebrate Ralph's life will be held on May 30, 2026, at the Copeland Oaks Beeghly Chapel in Sebring, Ohio. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm, with the memorial service following from 2:00-3:00pm.
