Nancy Jean Cobbs

Nancy J. Cobbs, a cherished member of the Sebring community, passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on August 26, 1931, in Sebring, Ohio to the late Rocco and Angeline (Campanella) Sabatine. Nancy successfully balanced a full time career with the responsibilities of family life. Through her hard work, determination and dedication, she managed both with grace, setting an example of strength and perseverance for those around her.

Nancy's professional journey began after graduating from Sebring McKinley High School in the class of 1950. She worked for several local Sebring businesses including Royal China. Nancy finally found her calling at Ohio Bell as a Telephone Operator and worked there for over 34 years until her retirement in 1983.

Besides raising her family and being an impeccable homemaker she was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring, Ohio, serving as the sacristan for many years. Nancy also was named Woman of the Year in 1996 at St. Ann Church. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America, that was comprised of many volunteers who had served in the telecommunications industry. Nancy also was a member of the Alliance B.P.O.E. Elks 467 Women's Auxiliary.

After her retirement, Nancy found joy in walking with her dear friend, Dee, canvassing miles in the Sebring community. Family was an important aspect of her life. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, creating special memories with her daughter, Lori and grandchildren, Madison and John, along with other family members.

She is survived by her; daughter, Lori A. Gasparik; granddaughter, Madison Ann Gasparik; grandson, John (Jessica) Gasparik, and great-grandson LJ. Nancy's memory will be held dear by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Lloyd J. "Bud" Cobbs whom she married on November 18, 1960 and passed on May 23, 2025; her infant daughter, Susan Lynn Cobbs; as well as 5 sisters; Angie Virgil, Ethel Bara, Janet Conti, Mary Jurica, Elizabeth Andreani, 3 brothers; Paul Demark, Tony Demark, and James Sabatine.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring with Fr. Matt Humerickhouse officiating. A time of visitation will take place at Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel on Sunday, June 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and the 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will take place at Sebring Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Nancy's honor to St. Ann Catholic Church 323 South 15th Street, Sebring, OH 44672.
