Mary J (Hoffman) Savage, age 82, passed away 7/04/2025 while at Crandall Medical Center. She was born in South Boston, Virginia on November 25, 1942. Mary went to Sebring-McKinley High School and worked for Americana Art China, Phil's Greenhouse and the Ohio Dept. of Jobs & Family Services before retiring in 2008. She also volunteered for many years at The Sebring Unit of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, spending time with friends & family, playing Mrs. Claus at the Sebring Santa Stroll and collecting historical records of ancestors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Louis Blackmon (1951)and Christine(Handy-Blackmon) Harris (1966); step father, Paul Harris; husband, Eldon Savage (2000), ex-husband, William V. Hoffman (2008), daughter, Denise Hartman (2015), brother, Donald Blackmon (2018), brother, Eddie Blackmon (2022) and loving companion, Patrick Leasure (2020).
Survivors include her sister, Wanda Ellsworth, twin sons, William A. Hoffman (Patricia), Brian S. Hoffman (Joanne), son-in-law, David Hartman, grandchildren, Phoenix Massarelli (Chad), Nichole Kurpil, Ashley (Stecker) Brown and Patrick Stecker along with great grandchildren, Cora Kurpil, Garrett Massarelli, McKenna Brown and many nieces and nephews.
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Mary's life during visitation on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, located at 126 W Vermont Ave in Sebring, Ohio. (330) 938-2526
A private family service will take place the following day, Thurs., July 10th at 10:00am, also at the Funeral Home. Mary will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Aultman Hospice or The Salvation Army.
