Lucia Woods

Lucia Woods, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on March 13, 2025, in Canton, Ohio. Born on September 3, 1935, in Litchfield, Illinois, she lived a life filled with love, dedication, and various passions that enriched the lives of those who knew her.

A proud graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, class of 1953, Lucia was known for her vibrant spirit and enthusiasm. Throughout her life, she took great joy in traveling with her family. Her long-standing membership at the Sebring Country Club exemplified her love for the friendships and opportunities while taking in a round or two.

Lucia's family was her greatest pride and accomplishment. She is survived by her son, James "Jay" Traner; stepdaughter, Lynnette Beetler; stepson, Tom Woods; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. They will forever cherish the moments they shared and the love she imparted to them.

Lucia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elsie (Miller) Hunter; her first husband, Earl Traner, who passed away in December 1968; her second husband, Lew Woods, who left this world in July 2022; her son, William "Billy" Traner, who died in August 2023; as well as her stepson, Jay Lee Woods, and stepdaughter, Luanne Couts-Milbourn. The memories of her laughter, kindness, will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A combined service for Lucia and her late husband Lewis will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring, Ohio on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505.
