Lorna Rae Borrelli, 74 of Salem, Ohio passed away at her home early Friday morning, September 1, 2017. Lorna was born in Industry, PA on April 12, 1943 the daughter of the late James and Lorna (Hughes) Hamilton. Her family moved to the Salem area when she was 6 years old but traveled between Ft. Myers, FL and Salem giving her the opportunity to attend school in both towns; she trained as a Surgical Technician at Doctor’s Hospital in Massillon. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem; she was an avid reader and enjoyed caring for her birds and dogs, but especially loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years David A. Borrelli of Salem whom she married on October 10, 1986, her son Rev. James (Patty) Barnes pf Louisville, KY, a sister Helaine Mercer of Salem and four step children Kathi Davis of Hanoverton, Daniel Borrelli of North Lima, Richard (Madelyn) Borrelli and David Allen Borrelli both of Huntington Beach, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son Edward L. Barnes II on August 13, 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem with Fr. Jeffrey Mickler, SSP, from St. Paul Monastery officiating. Burial will take place at Salem Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, 510 Jennings Avenue Salem, Ohio, 44460. (330) 337-6363.
