Lloyd Briggs

Lloyd Briggs, a member of Washingtonville community, passed away on January 18, 2025, in Columbiana, Ohio, at the age of 66. Born on November 16, 1958, in Salem, Ohio, Lloyd lived a life filled with service, passion, and camaraderie.

A proud graduate of Leetonia High School in 1977, Lloyd devoted his career to various roles, notably as a former member and Chief of the Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Department. His commitment to public service extended to his work at Meyer's Equipment, Conway Trucking, and CARTS, where his colleagues and the community at large appreciated his hard work and dedication.

Lloyd was known for his active participation in local organizations. He was a respected member of the Leetonia American Legion and the VFW of Washingtonville, as well as OSI in Leetonia, where he connected with veterans and friends, sharing stories and camaraderie that spanned generations.

In his personal life, Lloyd found joy in a variety of hobbies. He was passionate about model cars and enjoyed attending swap meets, where he could share his love for collecting and craftsmanship. An avid fan of NASCAR, he often spent weekends watching races and engaging in spirited discussions about the sport. Additionally, playing darts brought him together with friends and family, creating countless memories filled with laughter and competition.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved mother, Cora J. (Townsend) Briggs; his sister, Jean (Bret) Luxeuil; his nephew, Marcel Luxeuil; his sister-in-law, Karen (Bob) Floor; and his brother-in-law, Kurt (Donna) Kelly. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Briggs in 2016, and his wife, Kim (Kelly) Briggs in March of 2016, both of whom he cherished deeply.

A visitation in honor of Lloyd will take place on January 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Columbiana First United Methodist Church located at 210 South Main Street, Columbiana, Ohio. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at the same location, starting at 6:00 PM with Pastor Cindi Midlick officiating.
