Janice Stokes, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on February 17, 2022, of complications from Parkinson's Disease. She was a remarkable companion to her husband Stan, providing support to him in all his numerous endeavors for over 67 years. She also raised two children, Ellen and Eric.

Born in Tampa, FL on February 11, 1930, Janice lived most of her early decades in Bloomville and Clyde Ohio. After a whirlwind courtship, she married Stanley Stokes in 1954. She was widowed from a previous marriage to Dean Chaney, killed during the Korean War.

Janice was active in the Methodist Church for many years, volunteering in various roles and serving faithfully in the choir. After raising a family in Ohio and Michigan, she retired with Stan to Asheville, NC. Her last few years were spent at Copeland Oaks in Sebring, OH. She is survived by husband Stan, daughter Ellen Stokes (Roger Birkel), son Eric Stokes (Monika) and grandchildren Olivia Birkel and Ben Stokes. Plans for a memorial service are incomplete.
