James Williams, beloved husband, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in his hometown of Sebring, Ohio. He was born on February 25, 1940, to John and Maragret (Runion) Williams, who preceded him in death. James proudly served in the U.S. Army, and after his military service, he dedicated his working life to Denman Tire, from which he eventually retired.
James loved for the outdoors, indulging in hobbies such as fishing and hunting. His passion for nature was only rivaled by his commitment to family, as he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He is fondly remembered for his playful nature, always giving his nieces and nephews a hard time, as his way of telling them he loved them.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Janet (Holtsclaw) Williams, whom he united in marriage on July 15, 1961. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his sisters, Marilyn B. Smith, Mary F. Garnes, and Linda L. (Ernie Campbell) Evanitcka, as well as two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Besso and Pat (Archie) Williams. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him. As well as his favorite his dog Tilly.
James was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Williams, and sisters Charlene M. Williams, Alice Ann Baker, and Alma Morrison. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, located at 126 W Vermont Ave, Sebring, OH 44672. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Reich, Officiating. He will be laid to rest in a burial service at 12:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, OH.
