James Mclaughlin

James McLaughlin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 78 in Lisbon, Ohio. Born on October 18, 1946, in Salem, Ohio he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a remarkable spirit that touched all who knew him.

James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he was a Vietnam Veteran, embodying the qualities of bravery and commitment to service. After his honorable discharge, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career as an independent truck driver, working with multiple companies. His profession took him across many roads, but it was his family and community connections that always remained at the heart of his journey.

A proud graduate of Beaver Local Schools, class of 1964, James was an active individual with a diverse range of interests. He enjoyed spending time at the shooting range and embraced the beauty of the outdoors. A fan of Notre Dame football, he was known to cheer passionately for his team, and he possessed an undeniable sweet tooth, finding joy in every candy he encountered.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Ruby Gail (McDaniel) McLaughlin, with whom he shared a beautiful union since January 1, 1990. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and cherished memories. His legacy continues through their children: Crystal Oller, Jillian Jimenez, Heath (Shawna) Oller, and Ethan Oller-Snyder. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, Carter (Lona) Rose, Scott Jimenez, Brogan (Lily) Oller, Clayton Nedwash, Bryce Oller, Alex Croxall, Blake Oller, Gabrielle Nedwash, Johnny Jimenez, and Evan Croxall, who brought immense joy to his life, James is also survived by his sister, Patricia Klein, sister-in-law Ann Lewis, nieces and nephews; Susan (Doug) Rhom, Karen (Robert) Flory, Mark (Tammy) Klein, Justin Corpolongo, David (Melissa) Smith, as well as several great nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret McLaughlin, his brother, David Smith, his brother-in-law, Ronald Klein and his Aunt June Gandy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Salem Chapel (330) 337-6363.
