Heather Joy

Heather Joy, 47, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 and is now with the Lord. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lisbon, Ohio. Her faith was an important part of who she was ever since she was little. Heather was home schooled by her mother, who taught her to read and opened her heart to the Bible which became her manual for life. She was a faithful and devoted Christian who loved God deeply and sought to live her life with love, faith, and kindness.

Heather was born in Salem, Ohio but also lived in many states including Arizona, Virginia, Hawaii and Michigan. Over the years Heather has worked various occupations, but was blessed that many of them actually were her hobbies. Her hobbies included horses, reading, singing, farming, planting, harvesting, gardening, raising chickens, crafting, sewing, needlepoint, scrap booking, card-making, diamond art, being creative in the kitchen with her exceptional talents of cooking and baking.

Heather will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her mother and father, Donna and Tim; her brother, Shawn; her sister and brother-in-law, Natalie and Michael Brooks; her nieces Leia, Jasmine and Elena. She will also be missed by her MANY favorite cousins (you know who you are), aunts, uncles and many other beloved friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her sweet, first niece, Ariel, and her grandparents.

Many of her favorite hobbies came from her grandparents. Her love of gardening came from her grandma Joy's love of flowers. Her exceptional skills in the kitchen were inspired by helping her grandma Crawford make gravy and watching grandma Joy make bread and pies. She enjoyed watching the smiles that came from her creations in the kitchen. Heather was known for her compassion, faithfulness, love and kindness. She spent countless hours unselfishly serving others with a gracious heart without hesitation to being behind the scenes. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Heather's faith was steadfast and that she is now resting in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior. Her beautiful voice, her love for God, and the memories of the life she shared with those she loved will remain in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 17th, 2026 at the Leetonia Sportsman Club, 311 E High Street Ext., Leetonia, Ohio from 5:00-7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for final expenses through the funeral homes link.
