Harold Williams

Harold Williams, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 3, 2025, in Ravenna, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on June 29, 1947, Harold lived a life filled with dedication to his family, career, and community.

A seasoned electrician, Harold lent his talents to Wharton Electric, Burden Electric and Hillscher-Clarke, where he was known for his craftsmanship and commitment to excellence. His career spanned many years, during which he made numerous friends and left lasting impressions through his work.

Harold proudly served his country as a veteran in the United States Navy, an experience that instilled in him values of duty and honor that reverberated throughout his life. Following his military service, he became an active member of the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and the Alliance Elks, where he enjoyed building camaraderie with fellow veterans and community members.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Harold had an adventurous spirit. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and golf, often sharing these pursuits with loved ones. His greatest joy, however, was in the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, Riley, Weston, Austin, and Josephine. Harold's love for them was boundless, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

Harold was also a devoted member of the Shortcreek Sportsman Club and the Blue Lodge Masonic community. His faith was an important aspect of his life, and he attended the Alliance First Friends Church, where he found fellowship.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Susan (Springer) Williams; his sons, Matthew Williams and Adam (Nicole) Williams as well as their mother Twana Neiss; his step-sons, Scott Wachsman and David Hoiles; his step-daughter, Joanna (Jonathan Etheridge) Hoiles; and his treasured grandchildren. Harold is also survived by his brother, Earl (Debra) Williams, many nieces and nephews who, along with others, will carry on his legacy of love and commitment.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, William and Cassie Williams, and thirteen siblings: Troy (Gail) Williams, Doug (Helen) Williams, Roy (Freda) Williams, Dallas (Nancy) Williams, Jim (Myrtle) Williams, Opal Keyes, Sarah (Pat) Pridemoore, Mason Williams, June (Williams) Bailey-Evans, Wayne (Jean) Williams and Isabelle Williams, Haskle (Mary) Williams, Ray (Urene) Williams, Frank (Phyllis) Williams.

A Graveside service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio in August with military honors (actual date will be posted at a later date.
