Elva Summers, a beloved figure in the Sebring community, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 8, 1942, in Alliance, Ohio, Elva spent her life fostering relationships and contributing to her community.
For 28 years, she proudly served as the office manager at the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, where her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impact on the organization and those it served. Her tireless efforts extended beyond her professional career; she held numerous volunteer positions and was deeply involved with various community organizations. Elva was a former member of the Sebring Area Chamber of Commerce, served as a trustee of The Concern in Sebring, and was an active member of the Lions Club. She also contributed her time as a 4H advisor and volunteered with the RSVP program and Past Chairman of the Sebring Salvation Army. Her dedication to service was recognized when she received the Sebring Citizen of the Year Award.
Elva was not only a respected community leader, but she was also a cherished family member. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Felicia) Miller and Frank (Valerie Miller) Summers; her daughter, Sandra (Bart) Ragucci; her daughter, Russtina Jeannie (Don) Brady; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard Hoffman.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Amy (McCracken) Hoffman; her husband, Lloyd G. Summers Sr.; a brother William "Bill" Hoffman, and her grandson, Ronnie Miller.
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Elva's life during visitation on May 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek and Brown Funeral Home, located at 126 W Vermont Ave in Sebring, Ohio. The funeral service will take place the following day, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at the Funeral Home. Following the service, Elva will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio.
