Douglas Greenawalt, born on August 12, 1950, in Alliance, Ohio, departed this world peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 74. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Doug was a devoted father to his children, Tasha (Jonathan) Bloor and Shawn (Jen) Greenawalt, Grandchildren Riley and Addison Bloor, a Brother Randy Greenawalt and Sisters Janice Lewis and Judy Bernier. Besides his Parents Paul and Elphy Greenawalt, He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Haupt Greenawalt in 2018 and sister Diane Greenawalt. He cherished family gatherings and took great joy in watching them grow, always offering guidance and support from a place of deep affection. His gentle spirit and ability to connect with people made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we reflect on his life, we remember Doug not just for his accomplishments but for the love he shared. He found joy in the simple things-his laughter, his stories, and the way he made everyone feel special. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and a reminder to live life fully, with kindness and authenticity. He served in the United States Army in the infantry division-Path Finders, and was a Member of the Cornerstone Christian Church. Doug enjoyed fishing hunting and spending his free time outdoors just taking in the beauty of nature.
In honor of Douglas Greenawalt's life, funeral services will be held on Tuesday July15, 2025, at 11 AM at Gednetz -Ruzek -Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Rex Morey officiating with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and celebrate his life. A burial will follow the service, providing a final resting place where Doug will be remembered with love and gratitude.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we find comfort in knowing that Doug's spirit will continue to shine through the hearts of those he touched. He may have left this earthly realm, but his legacy will endure through the love he imparted and the memories we hold dear.
