Diane K. Kaurich-Birr, 64, of Salem passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Diane was born in Salem, Ohio on May 23, 1957 to Roy and Donna (Benner) Waugh. Diane was a 1975 graduate of Minerva and retired from HALTEC Corporation. Diane loved animals and the outdoors enjoying the beauty of nature; going camping and riding her motorcycle a Road King Harley Davidson. She had a dedication to her favorite fair, The Canfield Fair where she only missed one year and was a 4-H Advisor for 10 years. Diane enjoyed to go bowling where she bowled for 30 years. Diane had a kind and gentle heart, she would always help others in their time of need. Her family was the pride of her life; she cherished the moments spent with her family especially being "Grandma Blue" to her treasured grandkids.
Diane is survived by her husband Donald Birr; children Tracy Prendergast and Krista (Brian) Crump; three brothers Troy (Marie) Waugh, Roger (Patti) Waugh, and Richard Waugh and her grandchildren Dominic, Jase, Isaiah Crump and a fourth grandchild that is on the way Elise Crump. Diane is also survived by her nieces and nephews Evan, Mitchell, Allison, Olivia Waugh and great nephew Easton Waugh. She is survived by her special fur babies Jacks, Chica, Brutus, Fia, Harley, Smokey and Mittens. Diane was preceded in death by her late husband David T. Kaurich, her father Roy W. Waugh and a son-in-law Tony Prendergast.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Diane will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM At Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel with Pastor Mark Reich officiating. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and the hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Flowers maybe sent or the family requests memorial contributions be made in Diane's name to the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic, 8100 Race Rd.
