Denny Wright, a member of the Salem community and a lively spirit to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on March 28, 1939, in Salem, Ohio, Denny was a remarkable individual whose zest for life was evident in all that he did.
A graduate of Salem High School, Denny enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from Crane Demming. Known for his engaging personality, he was always the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Denny was often found meeting up with friends at the Eagles, VFW, and the Italian Club, where his warmth and humor made an indelible mark.
Denny's love for sports was immense. He excelled at playing baseball and basketball and was constantly seeking out a good poker game. His passion extended to his favorite sports teams, including the Steelers, Indians, Red Sox, Cavs, and Celtics. His enthusiasm for these teams brought many people together, making game days occasions filled with camaraderie and fun.
Among his proudest accomplishments was his musical talent; he played the bass guitar since the 1950s and was a member of several bands, including Joint Effort, Damaged Goods, and Modern Roots, among others. His love for music resonated deeply with friends and family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. He enjoyed being able to spend time with his family especially Lani when she would always be there to help out.
Denny leaves behind his beloved son, Brian (Lani Salvino) Wright, and four devoted grandchildren, Samantha Wright, Maya Wright, Chanel Wright, and Richard Wright Jr., as well as many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard, and his brothers Jeff Wright and a younger brother who passed early in life.
