David Hergenroder

David M. Hergenroder, born on September 7, 1959, in Salem, Ohio, passed away on February 16, 2025, at Hospice House in Youngstown, Ohio. David lived a life full of dedication, having built a career as a truck driver. he worked for JB Hunt. He was known for his remarkable work ethic and commitment to his profession.

A proud graduate of Salem High School, David embraced the values of service and discipline, exemplified by his time in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Big Red One Infantry Division, stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas, and had the honor of serving overseas in Illesheim, Germany as a tank crewman.

David had a wide array of interests and hobbies that enriched his life. He cherished moments spent fishing and camping, and he took great pride in caring for the birds at home. Above all, David relished the time he spent watching his grandchildren, Lydia, Grace, and John supporting them in all their endeavors.

He is survived by his son Josh (Sarah) Hergenroder, daughter Jessica (Mark) Bates, sister Marilyn (Steve) Rowedda, and brother Henry Hergenroder. David will be deeply missed by his loving family, who will remember him for his kindness, passion for life, and unwavering support. David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Diane (Talbot) Hergenroder, and his brother Mark Hergenroder.

A memorial service to honor David's life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM with Pastor Herb Goetz officiating at North Benton United Presbyterian, located at 19070 N Benton Rd W, North Benton, OH 44449. The family will greet guests the hour prior to the service at the church from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans at www.help.dav.org or any other charitable veterans group.
