Charlotte L. Jackson, a cherished member of her community and dedicated educator of 39 years, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 87, in Stow, Ohio. Born on January 9, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, Charlotte's early years set the foundation for her lifelong commitment to education and service.
Charlotte followed her passion for teaching, obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Ohio Weslyan College in Marion, Indiana, where she met the Love of her life, Leslie Jackson. She continued her pursuit in education earning two Master's Degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Her teaching career began in 1960 at the Mississinewa School District as a 4th grade teacher, moving on for 29 Years in Marion Community Schools in Indiana, as a 6th grade teacher and ending her career as a middle school counselor where she inspired countless students with her dedication and love for teaching.
Beyond her professional contributions, Charlotte was actively involved in her community, participating in Bible studies, Sunday School Classes, leading women's groups, and singing with the church choir. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature were evident in her relationships with her beloved grandchildren, friends and family, who brought her immense joy.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Leslie Jackson of 62 years; her son Steve (Denise) Jackson; and her five treasured grandchildren, Ethan Jackson, Benjamin Jackson, Nicolas Colosimo, Brandon Colosimo, and Ryan Colosimo.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Esther (Grafton) Goff, and six siblings: Evelyn Steer, Virginia Stanley, Wilbur Goff, Raymond Goff, Roger Goff, and Russell Goff.
Charlotte's life will be honored during a viewing on March 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring, Ohio. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held starting at 1:00 PM, with Pastor John Ryser officiating, followed by a graveside service at Damascus Cemetery.
