After a brief illness, Carol J. Oliver, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, with her loving daughter by her side and surrounded by the tremendous love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Carol was born on December 15, 1938, in Alliance, Ohio to Eleanor and Carl Mort. She was the oldest of three siblings, Carl II, and Bonnie. She grew up and spent her entire life in Beloit, OH. She was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School. She went on to marry the love of her life Junior Ray Oliver in August 1956 whom she was married to for 32 years.
She worked at the IGA grocery store in Beloit until she retired with over thirty years of dedicated service. After retiring, most of her time was spent spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which brought immense joy to her. She made it her life's work to tell everyone about each one of them and how proud she was of them and their accomplishments.
Carol was kind, generous, and had a heart of gold. Whether it was offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a snack for any occasion, she made everyone feel welcome and loved. Those fortunate enough to know her were touched by her warmth and compassion, and the world is undoubtedly a better place because she was in it.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Debra, her grandchildren - Charity (Brian), Christopher (Samantha) and Kaylee (Tom) and 8 great-grandchildren - Mason, Christian, Emma, Jackson, Beckett, Everly, Avery, Trevor, and 1 sibling Bonnie (Walt).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior R. Oliver; her brother, Carl Mort II; her son-in-law, David W. Phillips; and her grandson, David R. Phillips.
Per her request, no memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, tribute or memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association: donate.diabetes.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel, (330) 938-2526, www.grfuneralhome.com.
"The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who shared in Carol's life and loved her so much."
