It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Steven Brown, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 71. Bruce was born on December 16, 1954, in Ontario, Canada, and later made his home in Mantua, Ohio until recently moving to Atwater, Ohio.
Bruce dedicated his life to his work as a millwright with Venture Lighting. He was known for his hard work and commitment, but more importantly, he was a great man who always had time for his family and friends. Bruce really enjoyed learning about planes even almost getting his private pilot's license until his health prevented him from completing it. He also loved spending time going out to the range shooting several different types of collectible guns and rifles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Brown, and their children: Candace (Matt Voytek) Hlinka, Terri (Ron) Painter, Steven (Nichole) Brown, and Kevin Brown. Bruce also cherished his role as a grandfather to his grandchildren: Taylor Vence, Meghan Vence, Grace Vence, Christopher Painter, Kasey Painter, Olivia Painter, Raven Makinson, Lukas Brown, Steven Brown, Savannah Debon, Kayden Brown, and Deklan Brown. His family was his pride and joy, and he always made sure to be there for every birthday, holiday, and special occasion. He is also survived by several step grandchildren a nephew Ron Brown and former daughter in law Cindy (Mike) Debon. Besides his parents Arthur and Pauline Brown, he was preceded in death by two half-siblings and a son in law Ronald Painter.
Per his request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Bruce's memory to American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231, www.heart.org . Bruce's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be missed more than words can say.
