Betty L. (Bradley) Gillis, 87, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Sebring on August 20, 1935 to the late Wilbur and Thelma (Turner) Bradley. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Sebring High School. She worked as the Branch Manager for Bank One at Copeland Oaks until her retirement and then worked the front desk. She enjoyed "Digging in the Dirt" or gardening, knitting, crocheting and holding her famous picnics at her house for the whole neighborhood. Betty's door was always open a friend to anyone. Betty loved her family especially the time she got to spend with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Sharon Simpson and Gregory (Debra) Gillis; Rick Simpson, grandchildren Jason Simpson, Mark (Lindsey) Simpson and Kyle (Amanda) Simpson; great-grandchildren Mykala Simpson, Bexly Simpson Lola-Monroe Simpson, Gavin and Jules and two nieces Dina and Gina. Besides her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Gillis who passed away on June 1, 2002; a sister Jean Nicholson and her great-grandson Corben Simpson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Pastor Quint Bryan officiating. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery, Sebring. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty's honor the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
