Elizabeth S. Hays

Elizabeth S. "Beth" Hays, 41 of Parma, Michigan and formerly of Salem passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. She was born in Salem, Ohio on April 29, 1985 the daughter of Wayne and Christina Hays. Beth was a 2003 graduate of Salem High School and received her bachelor's degree in psychology and Youth Ministry in 2008 and her master's degree from Spring Arbor University in Counseling in 2013.

After graduation she worked as a Trauma Counselor at Catherine Cobb House. Beth loved all kinds of animals and spending time in nature, and often volunteered at animal shelters.

She is survived by her father Wayne, grandmother Patricia Saltsman, and preceded by her mother Christina in 2014, her grandfather Wesley Hays, grandmother Betty Hays, and Grandfather Richard Saltsman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Hollingshead officiating at Brown Funeral Home, Salem Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Burial will take place at Salem Grandview Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Catherine Cobb House on their website Catherinecobb.org.
