Barbara Jean Buehler

Barbara Jean Buehler, 78, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. Born on November 9, 1947, in Alliance, Ohio, Barbara's life was marked by steadfast commitment, warmth, and an enduring love for her family and community.

A proud graduate of Marlington High School, Barbara devoted over forty years of her life serving as a bus driver for West Branch Local Schools. Her long career stands as a testament to her reliability, kindness, and the deep connections she formed with the drivers, families and children she transported each day. She was more than just a driver; she was a friendly, reassuring presence in the daily lives of many young students.

Barbara's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She had a passion for crafting, thrifting, and the thrill of garage sales, activities that brought her joy and creativity. She enjoyed the excitement of spending time at the casino, reflecting a lively spirit that appreciated life's simple pleasures. She also dedicated much of her time to volunteering for various groups and her community, her compassion extending equally to humans and animals alike.

Barbara is survived by her son, Bob Custar, and his wife Rose, of Alliance; four grandchildren - Megan (Travis), Bobbi Jo (Eric), Jim, and Jason (Ashley); as well as six great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hayden, Aven, Brinley, Lincoln, and Raelynn. She also leaves behind her brother, Rick Crowe, her dear friend and companion, Fred Burns Sr. and her God Daughter Jennifer. Her extended family includes many nieces and nephews and her cat Lucille. Among her close circle were four special friends; Toni, Amanda, Bonnie and Thressa who shared a weekly tradition of enjoying lunch together at Jaliscos every Monday, a testament to the strong friendship they had. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Hazel Crowe a brother Leroy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel. A gathering of friends and family will take place the hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
