Babette L. Ross

Babette "Babs" Ross, passed away peacefully in Canton, Ohio on July 25, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 9, 1936, in New Cumberland, West Virginia, She was a thriving spirit whose journey through life was marked by compassion, dedication, and love.

Babs was proud to serve her community as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Salem/Alliance Visiting Nurses. Her commitment to healthcare exemplified her caring nature, and she touched the lives of many in her profession. A 1954 graduate of New Cumberland High School, she furthered her education at Indiana University, where her passion for helping others blossomed.

Throughout her life, Babs embraced various interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an avid gardener, a dedicated golfer, and a spirited supporter of Mt. Union Football. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her enjoyment of riding her bicycle, particularly on multi-state trips with her husband, Clyde B. Ross, who predeceased her on August 16, 2021. Together, they created countless cherished memories that captured the essence of their enduring partnership. She was also a member of the Damascus Friends Church, where her faith and fellowship nurtured her spirit and connected her to her community.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward. Babs is survived by her daughter, Laura (Cliff) Muhleman; her son, John (JoAnn) Ross; her daughter, Lisa (Fred) Sell; and her son, Shawn (Dana) Ross. She was especially proud of her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Babs is also survived by her sister, Patricia McDonald.

A time of visitation will be held on July 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Brown Funeral Home, Sebring Chapel. The burial will take place at Damascus Cemetery.
