Arthur Simms III "Butch", passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Sebring, Ohio, at the age of 82. He was born on January 7, 1943, in Alliance, Ohio, and was a graduate of Marlington High School. Arthur devoted over 20 years of his professional life to American Steel, where he made significant contributions to the industry until his retirement. His work ethic and dedication to his job reflected the values he upheld throughout his life. In addition to his career, Arthur honorably served in the Vietnam War as a member of the Army. His service to his country was a source of pride for him and a testament to his character.
Arthur was deeply involved in his community, serving as a long-time Boy Scout leader for Troop 82, where he positively influenced the lives of many young boys. His passion for the outdoors, particularly camping, was evident in his active lifestyle, and he cherished every moment spent in nature.
He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Tina Henrick; sons, Art (Chrissy) Simms and Kevin Simms; daughter, Kerri McCauley; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Ronald (Barb) Simms. Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (Plumley) Simms, and his parents, Arthur and Lillian (Nestrick) Simms Jr..
